Still in, with dashes of out!

We are still in SS as the Drs want to ensure his decreasing outputs (which is good) are more stable, and this can only be known if all his outputs are routinely measured. So we will be in until at least Monday, with me taking Sam out between 2 & 6 when he is unhooked.

This week I've been leaving Starship, with Sam, to do the school run, heading home with the girls for a couple of hours so I can do some washing, make dinner etc before getting back in to Starship for 6 when Sam needs hooking back up again. Yesterday I realised the fridge was a tad bare, so we quickly raced around the supermarket. Sam loves being in the trolley as it has wheels and he spends the whole time squealing as he spots another trolley with wheels. I had discreetly wrapped his 2 drain bags in a blanket and had it beside him, but his hospital tag was still on his leg and with his squealing he does attract an audience. He now realises if he wildly waves both arms and shouts at a gazillion decibels 'yeah' he gets instant smiles. He is very entertaining if nothing else!

Hoping to get an early night as the last two nights he's been waking with coughing and then getting bored and pulls off his ilieostomy bag. Last night at 2 and 5 we had to totally change him as his clothes were covered in poop and blood.....
