Yesterday was Sams Kindergarten Christmas party..... and there were 120+ three and four year olds who had harnessed so much cuteness it was totally gorgeous! Sams blue group were first to entertain us, with their rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Precious Star, Thank you God for who you are....
Sam hasn't mastered multi-tasking yet, so it was a choice between screaming, 'There's Nana, there she is!' and singing the song.... he chose the first for pretty much the duration of the song! And of course Bee had to accompany Sam for his debut performance!
It was a fun day which made me realise yet again how totally amazing the staff are at Elim Kindergarten! Sam is going to be increasing his time from two mornings to three in the new year.
This coming week is busy with the speech/language therapist and physio having their last sessions with him this year on Monday morning, then Tuesday is Starship visit for gastro clinic.
It is a year on Monday since Sam had his central line surgically embedded in his chest, so we are thankful that it has lasted so well and been a safe source of getting TPN into him. We are hoping and praying that in 2013 Sam starts eating..... really want to work on that, but know it will be a massive effort of discipline on our part and we know it will be difficult for Sam to overcome his fears.... but I leave you with some inspiring quotes I have read recently, which have inspired us for this next challenge, full well knowing it won't be easy, but knowing that God is the source of our strength and He has great plans for us all. May you know courage and joy as you face 2013.
'Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared' Captain Rickencacker, former US Fighter Pilot
'Sometimes the Lord rides out the storm with us and other times He calms the restless sea around us. Most of all, He calms the storm inside us in our deepest inner soul' Lloyd John Ogilvie, former chaplain of the US Senate
'Surfing isn't the most important thing in life. Love is. I've had the chance to embrace more people with one arm than I ever could with two'. Bethany Hamilton, pro surfer and shark attack survivor
